Like so many my road to holistic health and ultimately the formation of Ananda Acupuncture began with a serious illness.  At 14, I watched my Stepfather struggle through 8 years of  radiation treatment for cancer before succumbing to the disease.  It was then when I first questioned the standard of care in the United States and brought health and wellness into my forefront.

I decided that I wanted to live life with the goal of helping others like my Stepfather.  After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, I realized how neglected emotional health is in standard US healthcare.  I discovered that my real passion was healing the whole person, not just a symptom or an ailment.

With this desire to treat the entire person, I acquired both a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor’s of Nutrition from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine.  I formed Ananda (“bliss”) Acupuncture where my goal is to partner with each unique individual to get results and guide them towards holistic wellness.

The stresses of everyday life can lead not only to a number of aches and pains but also to emotional suffering as well.  Through my mastery of the art of acupuncture it is my intention to bring relief and joy to my patients by treating physical pains such as chronic back aches or sore muscles to the emotional stress caused by depression and anxiety.

My mission at Ananda Acupuncture is to provide individualized services to help you live a high quality, vibrant life.  It would be my pleasure to be part of your wellness journey and help you cultivate the life that you desire without the stress of pain as part of your everyday life.  Together, we can fulfill your dreams with vitality and ultimately find your own bliss.

 Integrating Acupuncture and Chiropractic Care

Acupuncture and chiropractic complement one another beautifully and are often combined in order to provide a more comprehensive level of treatment. The coordinated use of these therapies is one of the most effective natural strategies for managing difficult health conditions such as chronic pain and headaches.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Practitioners of Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) use carefully composed combinations of natural medicinal substances to treat complex health problems. Standard formulas (of which there are thousands) can be individually modified based on the needs of each patient. The inherent flexibility of this process enables practitioners of CHM to effectively treat many conditions without causing dangerous side effects.

CHM is often used as an alternative to conventional medications. In recent years, however, much research has been conducted exploring the combined and coordinated use of CHM and pharmaceuticals. This synergistic approach is particularly common in the field of cancer care where patients receiving chemotherapy, for example, will be prescribed an herbal formula in order to minimize side effects such as nausea, decreased immunity, fatigue, digestive disturbances, etc.
